FAQ
A compilation of some commonly asked questions about Cambuslang Drum Studio. If you have any other questions please feel free to get in touch and I will be more than happy to answer them for you.

Who is Cambuslang Drum Studio?Cambuslang Drum Studio was established in 2014 to provide a service that could not be matched anywhere else in the local area. It is owned and ran by Michael Pryce. Michael is an experienced drum teacher with over 6000 hours of contact teaching hours working in schools, as a Yamaha drum instructor teaching groups, and as a private drum teacher running his own studio.

How do we get started?To get started please email me using the form provided here. I'll then get back to you with any available time slots and set you up for your first lesson.

How much do lessons cost?30 minute lessons = £90 per month (£22.50 per lesson) 45 minute lessons = £135 per month (£33.75 per lesson) 60 minute lessons = £180 per month (£45 per lesson) *Tuition fees due 10 months of the year, September - June. * monthly pricing based on 40 lessons per year.

What do we need for our first lesson?Just yourself with a mindset ready for learning a new skill. Everything else is here.

What do we need after lesson one?1. A pair of drum sticks 2. Manuscript paper 3. Folder 4. Notebook Please talk to myself about what drum books would best suit you. I use a variety of books including the Trinity College London syllabus, Groove Freedom and The Language of Drumming.

Do I need a drum kit?At the beginning you can learn to play using just sticks and a practice pad. Eventually it would help your learning process if you can acquire a kit or have regular access to one.

Where can I purchase a drum kit?DrummersOnly, Glasgow's drum shop is a good place to start. They offer a great range from all reputable drum manufacturers. Feel free to talk to myself about this purchase so you can make an informed decision.

How do I pay for lessons?Lessons are paid for on a monthly basis for 10 months of the year on the 1st of each month, September - June. You can pay using bank transfer or cash (Transfer preferable - ask Michael for transfer details).

What is the cancellation policy?When you come to lessons with myself it is expected that you commit to all 40 lessons throughout the year however I do understand that life will get in the way of lessons occasionally. If you need to cancel a lesson for any reason please give me one weeks notice otherwise I still need to charge for the lesson time. If less notice is given for instance if you become unwell a few days before I will send you a short video lesson to work on that week instead. Very occasionally I will have to cancel a days teaching, if this happens I’ll refund you for the lesson.

Does the studio have holidays or days off?Studio opening weeks will run in line with South Lanarkshire’s main school holidays. The studio is open as normal on bank holidays. You’ll receive a text a few days before each break as a reminder. Christmas Holidays 2 weeks Spring Break 2 weeks Summer Holidays 7 weeks *Casual basis lessons available October Break 1 week
